FritzFox Still Unwritten NB, RN, TKN, SPOT

Birthdate: September 17, 2015

Despite getting off to a slow start, Badger is looking to be quite the show and performance dog here at LoupGarou. I got Badger at a particularly low time of my life, shortly after the death of my roommate, Dana. His name, Still Unwritten, was chosen because it has special meaning to me, both as a favorite song and because I felt that Dana had died long before the last part of her life story was written. I think that Dana would have loved Badger, with his long legs and clean lines and sensitive nature.

Unfortunately for Badger, a series of events ended his show career before it truly began and I fell into a deep depression. He garnered a total of three AKC (single) points and two legs toward his AKC Rally Novice, as well as some UKC championship points before I quit showing him entirely. Now, just 18 months later, Badger has his Novice Trick Dog title, a "Freshers" trick dog title from the Bella-Trix training club, and his AKC Rally Novice title. Over Labor Day weekend, he earned his first leg toward the first level of UKC Rally obedience AND passed his Socialized Pet Obedience Test at the Outstanding level, earning his SPOT title. I am SO very proud of this boy and have my sights set on earning his CGC and Rally Intermediate next. After we've finished with his genetic testing, we may be looking into breeding Badger to Sassi. He might no longer be a puppy, but there are still big things in store for Mr. Badger!

Oh, and in case you're curious, the "NB" in his name stands for "natural bobtail." It's considered the polite thing to do, to indicate when a dog is a natural bob--breeding two natural bobtails together can result in the death and reabsorption of developing puppies inside the dam, if the puppies are homozygous for the bobtail gene.
